This Sunday you will have an opportunity to place book orders for the new English Heritage Version (EHV) translation of the Bible and the doctrine book God So Loved the World by Lyle Lange. The EHV translation was recently completed by professors and pastors of our Wisconsin Synod church body. We used it in our worship last year at St. Peter for our Scripture readings. It is a very readable translation of the Bible. … The God So Loved the World book will be used in our Tuesday morning and evening Bible studies. To participate in those studies, your household will need a copy of the book. This book is a great resource on teachings of the Bible and would be wonderful to have in your home. See the flier in the bulletin for more information and prices. A signup sheet for each book will be at a table in the courtyard.
New Sunday Service Schedule!
Due to a number of members who have indicated that a 9:00 am service on Sunday is difficult for them to be ready for due to health issues, and also trying to reach out into our community with a Sunday morning time that may be more appealing to those without a church, the Board of Elders has decided to move our Sunday worship service time to 10:00 am starting July 7. When Bible study and Sunday School resume in August, the schedule will be: 9:00 am Sunday School/Bible Study; 10:00 am Worship.
Sunday School and Bible study
Sunday school for all youth ages meets this Sunday and next at 9:00 am in the preschool room. Beginning on September 1, we will have Sunday school classes broken out into four different age groups and meeting in their respective classrooms.
The painting currently hung in the narthex is on loan from Servando Garcia. Our replica of Carravagio’s, The Crucifixion of St. Peter, is temporarily in the care of Dennis and Mary Henderson.
