In recognition of 2017 being the 40th anniversary of St. Peter, we will be having a professional directory produced for our members. Each participating family will receive a complimentary 8x10 photograph. Photography dates will be June 28 - July 1. You may schedule your time slot online through our church website or by signing up at the designated table in fellowship hall. Friends and family are welcome to come and have photos taken and they too will receive a free 8x10!
Bake Sale – TODAY!
To help with the cost of their upcoming mission trip to Madison, WI, the teens will be hosting a bake sale after the church service and during the picnic. Donations are always welcome.
Summer Bible Study Series
Don’t you wish you could go back in time to hear and see Jesus, his life, and his amazing work? Wouldn’t it be great to see Jesus in action? Our new adult Bible study series this summer has us watch, listen, and discuss Matthew’s gospel account of Jesus’ life and work. Join us starting, Sunday, May 28, at 10:30 am for Matthew: A Visual and Verbal Walk Through Jesus’ Life. Those in grades 5-12 will be joining the adults for this study this summer.
The St. Peter Book Club is running strong! Our next book will be "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus", by Nabeel Qureshi. We will be meeting back on our regular schedule, June 10 at 6:30 in the conference room. Everyone is welcome to join in the conversations (even if you don't complete the reading!) Hope to see you there!
EHV New Testament and Psalms on Sale
Northwestern Publishing House will release the English Heritage Version (EHV) New Testament and Psalms this summer. The new translation will feel both fresh and familiar to readers. The readable style of the EHV will help readers understand clearly what God is revealing to them through his Word. The EHV New Testament and Psalms will be published in softcover for $14.99. If you would like to order a copy, please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the church entryway where you picked up a bulletin. If you have questions, please speak to Pastor Schroeder.
Dedication in Sparks, NV
Our congregation has been invited to celebrate the dedication of the new church building at our sister congregation, The Springs Lutheran Church in Sparks, NV on Sunday June 4. A catered meal will follow the service. If you would like to attend and will be staying for the meal, please sign up in the entryway. They would like to have a head count by June 1.
The St. Peter Church Picnic will take place on Sunday, May 21, at 11:00 am. Plan to stay for lunch and invite friends. We will have food and games for everyone. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex to help us get a count on how many burgers/hot dogs to make and opportunities for you to bring side dishes and fixings. This is the same day as the Preschool Closing Event and also Confirmation. A great day to celebrate all of God’s blessings with your St. Peter family!!! Coolers needed for Picnic – If you have a big cooler we could use for water and soda, please let Deacon Schroeder know. We could use three of them for the event.
Pioneers and Youth Group – Beach Trip – UPDATED!
The Pioneers and Youth Group will head to the beach on Saturday, June 3, at 9:00 am and will be back at church by 7:00 pm. Please pack a lunch, snacks, and bring your favorite beach gear. Join us for a day of sun, sand, tide pools and lots of fun. Hopefully the weather is more cooperative! Please see Deacon Schroeder for more details.
Mission Trip – Madison, Wisconsin - June 19-23, 2017
Pastor Cortright and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Madison, Wisconsin, invite confirmed members of St. Peter to help with their Vacation Bible School in June. We will have an organizational meeting today, after Bible Study and before the Voter’s meeting. If you are unable to attend please let Debbie Schulz know.
Soccer Bible Camp
We will have Soccer Bible Camp this summer and registration is now available online. Camp will be June 26-29 from 9:00 am-Noon and is for kids ages age 3 (potty-trained) through entering 4th grade. Cost is $20 if you register online in May or $25 starting June 1. Camp this year will feature the head coach from California Lutheran High School, Eric Hahn. Register soon and join us for a great soccer camp!
Tree of Life Lutheran Bible Camp – 2017!

The Care Committee is starting a Share-a-Meal Program to help members from our church that may be experiencing temporary setbacks. The program would provide meals to these members and their families. If you would like to support this program, you can donate a meal, money to be used for the meals or restaurant gift cards. Please contact Deacon Schroeder if you would like more information.
