New Sunday Service Schedule Starting in July
Due to a number of members who have indicated that a 9:00 am service on Sunday is difficult for them to be ready for due to health issues, and also trying to reach out into our community with a Sunday morning time that may be more appealing to those without a church, the Board of Elders has decided to move our Sunday worship service time to 10:00 am starting July 7. When Bible study and Sunday School resume in August, the schedule will be: 9:00 am Sunday School/Bible Study; 10:00 am Worship.
Christianity 101 – Bible Information Class
This past Thursday we began a new session of our Christianity 101 – Bible Information Class. If you were not able to be at the first session and would still like to attend, feel free to join us this Thursday, 6:30-8:00 pm. This study serves as a good overview of the Bible’s teachings, and also serves as a class we ask people to attend if they want to find out more about what we teach at St. Peter, and perhaps join our church.
Recently assignments in ministry were made at our WELS schools of ministry. There were some who have connections to St. Peter. At Martin Luther College, Kylah (Schroeder) Schultz was assigned to Atonement Lutheran School in Milwaukee, WI to teach 3-year-old preschool. At Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Philip Schroeder was assigned as a vicar at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Watertown, SD. His supervising pastor for the year will be Pastor Paul Janke, former pastor at St. Peter.
Summer Sunday School
Our Summer Sunday School starts today after worship. Sunday school in the summer months of June and August will be held as a large group on the preschool side of the fellowship hall. There is no Sunday school or Sunday Bible study in July.
Upcoming Outreach Event
Our next great opportunity to event someone to St. Peter will be our Festival of Freedom and Friendship on Sunday, July 7, at 10:00 am. That day we will recognize those who have served in protecting our freedoms and also enjoy a potluck after the service. Watch for more details about the potluck.
Soccer Bible Camp – Volunteers Needed
Our Soccer Bible Camp starts tomorrow here at St. Peter. We have had success in reaching out to children of our community by sharing Jesus with them at our previous camps. It’s not too late to be a part of this outreach opportunity to connect with our community and bring the Savior to young souls. Even if you cannot attend all four days this week, there are ways to serve. After Bible study and Sunday School today, there will be a meeting of those able to volunteer. Please talk with Jared Johnson if you have questions or would like to see how you can help.
