Our BeliefsWhether you are a seasoned Lutheran, a curious observer with little religious background, or a spiritual person looking to return to the church, we invite you to explore our beliefs. Simply stated:
Are all Lutherans the same? The short answer is "no." St. Peter is a Confessional Lutheran Church which means we subscribe to the historic Confessions of the Lutheran Church as recorded in the Book of Concord. We are a theologically conservative church which believes that the Bible is God's unchanging, inspired Word that He revealed to us so that we may believe in Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Savior.
We at St. Peter love to hear and study God’s Word. Every pastor who serves our congregation has been thoroughly trained in the original languages of the Bible (Hebrew and Greek) so that they can confidently teach people the truths of God’s Word. If you attend worship or a Bible study at St. Peter, you will quickly see that our emphasis is on what Jesus has done to rescue this world from sin. A great way to start growing in your faith and understanding is by enrolling in our Christianity 101 Bible class. St. Peter Lutheran is a member of WELS, a national organization of Lutheran congregations. We have sister congregations in almost every state and mission churches around the world. To learn more, you can visit the WELS website where there are helpful articles about what WELS Lutherans believe. |
