Preschool Staff 2019-2020 School Year
Mrs. Rebecca Toepel (Mrs. Rebecca) - Director and Lead Teacher
Welcome to St. Peter Lutheran Preschool! My name is Rebecca Toepel and I am the director and lead teacher of our preschool program. In 2003, I graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and obtained a B.S in Education with a special emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I have over 8 years of experience working in Early Childhood Programs. My philosophy in education is that children are active learners that need to explore their environment through a variety of experiences. As a facilitator of their learning experience, the focus of my teaching is providing careful planning and creating meaningful experiences and most importantly sharing Christ's love with them.
Mrs. Laela Mayfield (Mrs. Laela) - Teacher's Aide
Laela is the newest member of our amazing preschool staff! Laela's daughter attended our preschool and loved our program. Here is Laela, in her own words, describing what she loves about our preschool: "I love getting to know each child and observing how different they are. I love learning how to help them grow in their own unique way. It's amazing to see how much God plays a huge role in our preschool, not only for them but for us as teachers that all work so well together!"
Mrs. Debbie Schulz (Mrs. Debbie) - Teacher's Aide
Debbie has worked at St. Peter Lutheran Church for 11 years as an office administrator. She is excited to work closely with the preschoolers this year as a preschool aide. Debbie has her bachelor's degree in education and we are happy to have her use her teaching skills in our preschool!
Mrs. Melissa Hennessy (Mrs. Melissa) - Teacher's Aide
I am feeling truly blessed to be joining St. Peter Preschool this year!
I have been married for 14 years and we have two boys, both whom have participated in the Mornings With Mommy Program throughout the past 5 years. My youngest son attended St. Peter Preschool last year and it was a great experience for him.
I have volunteered at St Peter VBS and in the preschool classroom on several occasions. My family and I have met some wonderful friends at St. Peter and I am looking forward to meeting this year's preschool class and their families!
