Pastor - Dan Schroeder
The word "pastor" means "shepherd." Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He is the one who truly knows his sheep. He is the one who gave his life for the sheep. He is the only one whose voice his sheep listen to (John 10). In his wisdom, Jesus has called pastors to be shepherds of his flock underneath him. A pastor’s job is to keep himself directly under the Good Shepherd and serve God’s flock with his Savior’s strength and love. Please visit our Pastoral Care page if you are looking for more information about how our pastor can serve you (baptism, weddings, pastoral visits, etc.). Dan graduated from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree, where he began studying for the public ministry. In 1991 he continued his ministerial studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, from which he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. During his vicar year (year of internship), Dan served at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Franklin, Wisconsin. Since graduating from the Seminary in 1995, he has served as pastor at Morning Star Lutheran Church in Jackson, Wisconsin (7 years), pastor at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Chula Vista, California (12 years), and as Bible study and book editor at Northwestern Publishing House (NPH) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (2.5 years). He has served as pastor at St. Peter since 2016. He and his wife Linka have five children, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, and a grandson. Linka is the owner of Board & Brush Creative Studio in the Raley's Village One shopping center. Dan enjoys playing and watching numerous sports, reading, using technology, cooking, and spending time outdoors and at the beach. |
